Herald Radio begins the week with new programming and a brand new sound thanks to New England Soundproofing’s work in our studio, a project that is getting a thumb’s up from radio insiders.
Those who are listening include Michael Harrison of "Talkers Magazine" who notes the importance of blending technology with quality audio. "We live in an era in which so much of media is produced on mobile technology with its attendant clicks, pops, distortions and drop outs that it is very important for a station ... to have a clean, professional grade sound. Boston Herald Radio has now achieved a central sound quality that reminds me of the classic days of great stations such as NBC at Rockefeller Center.”
Michael Graham, a Herald Radio alumnus, current columnist and midday host of News Radio 106.7 in Atlanta found the difference in sound to be stark. "It sounds fifty times better", he said. "Herald Radio has big guests, now they have a big sound."
Those test-driving the new and improved studio, like morning host and radio veteran John Sapochetti of Boston Herald Drive are quick to praise the new digs. "It's better in here, sound-wise, than anywhere I've ever worked in radio."
Jaclyn Cashman of Morning Meeting notes that the station's pro-audience mantra is being well served. "This drastic upgrade in sound quality is just another way we at Herald Radio are respecting the listener." Meanwhile, her Morning Meeting cohost, Hillary Chabot agrees that the enhancements are going a long way, explaining, "The entire station sounds richer, warmer."
"I know what these soundproof panels can do. You're definitely going to be very happy," promised Anthony Drago, who with his brother Steven and father Anthony own New England Soundproofing.
Judging by the reaction of the talkers and listeners of Boston Herald Radio, he is absolutely right.
